The Committee
The committee is responsible for the organisation of club activities, from expeditions to socials.
They’re a friendly bunch (we promise) and are happy to answer any questions you may have…
Chair
Immie
Hi, I’m Immie and I’m a 2nd year Materials Science and Engineering Student.
I joined the club last year, becoming a Sports Diver and Assistant Dive Instructor.
As Chair, it’s my job to ensure the Committee works together to make the club the best it can be!
Diving Officer & Vice-Chair
Barney
Hi, I’m Barney and I’m a 4th year Mechanical Engineering student who’s been diving for over 14 years and has been a member of the club for 5 years. I’m currently working towards my Advanced Diver qualification and I’m the clubs Lead Open Water Instructor.
As diving officer I’m responsible for ensuring all training is safe and encouraging diving within the club.
Training officer
Leo
Hi, I’m Leo and I’m a Mechanical Engineering student working towards my Dive Leader qualification.
Being training officer means I’m responsible for organising all the club training that happens throughout the year.
Treasurer
Tom
I’m Tom, a 2nd year economics student and it’s in my second year with the club. I started diving in 2015 on holiday and since then have racked up 30+ dives.
Being the treasurer of the club, I’m responsible for creating and maintaining the clubs budget throughout the year to make sure your club admission is getting put to good use.
Kit Officer
Mike
Hello I’m Mike, I help the club service and maintain equipment as well as helping to ensure training and drive trips run smoothly.
Likes: Coffee, donuts, going to dive sites leaving all the cylinders at home and 70’s Prog rock.
Dislikes: Fusion, Windows 10, and messy kit stores.
Kit Officer
James
I’m James, a 3rd year Physics student and have been a member of the club since joining Loughborough.
As Kit Officer with Mike I’m responsible for looking after all the club kit and ensuring it’s ready for use along with filling your cylinders. You’ll most likely catch me in the pool on a Wednesday teaching too.
Social Sec & Welfare
Natasha
I’m a 3rd year Aeronautical Engineering student.
I’ve been with the club for a year and have only a few diving hours.
As Social sec I’ll be organising events and pub nights as much as possible.
I will also be acting as your welfare rep, making sure everyone is included and supported by the club
Media Sec
Megan
Hello I’m Megan, I’m in 2nd year fine art and this will be my 2nd with the club. I live in Kenya where I learned how to dive in 2013.
I’ve only really been diving in warm tropical waters and only just getting used to the cold English waters. I run the media side to Loughbrough diving and my job is to really show you how amazing and fun our club can be.
