Club trips are the highlights of the year where students go to stunning dive sites and use those qualifications we all worked so hard for.
Farne Islands
Located off the north east coast near Newcastle, the Farne islands are home to one of the largest grey seal colonies in the UK.
Our two day trip to the Farne islands in September or October is quite simply the most unique diving experience you can have.
The seals are incredibly curious of divers and often interact with anyone lucky enough to see them.
This trip is open to all Loughborough University club members and sometimes also ex-members.
Angelsey
At the start of the university academic year we run our ‘welcome trip’ to Anglesey in north Wales.
This trip is aimed at giving an introduction to scuba diving in UK oceans to Loughborough University students. The dive sites are specifically selected to give a variety of diving whilst not being overly challenging.
On the trip, you’ll get one day of shore diving from the famous Trearddur bay and another day of diving off a small boat.
Abroad trip
Each year the club hosts an abroad trip for a week so we can all catch some rays…
The destination changes each year. In the past we’ve been to Cyprus, Croatia and Malta. One thing that doesn’t change is we get to dive in beautiful topical waters!
If you’re more of a warm water diver this is the trip for you!
Annual DInner
Annual dinner is one of the best trips of the year and is open to current Loughborough University members as well as alumni.
By day, we get to explore an inland site which the club usually doesn’t visit. This can include NDAC in south wales, Capernwray up in Cumbria or a variety of other options.
By night, we host a not-so-formal black tie dinner where awards are handed out to deserving winners.
The trip is also guided by a shadowy figure only known as ‘The Master of Ceremonies’ and we can tell you from past experience, it’s better to stay on their good side…
